Admission process for continuing education

Students can begin an ACS in the continuing education stream any time of the year since these programs do not follow the same traditional school calendar as regular programs.

Continuing education courses are held during the day or evening, and occasionally on weekends. Applicants can be admitted into the program as full-time or part-time students, depending on the conditions established by the CEGEP with regard to the program in question. Contact the continuing education department of the CEGEP you wish to attend to obtain more information concerning the admission process.

SRAM only manages applications for admission for certain continuing education programs offered by its affiliated CEGEPs. If you want to know if admission to your targeted program is handled by SRAM, refer to the Table of Continuing Education Programs . If your program is not on the list, you will find all of the information regarding admission on the website of the CEGEP offering the program.

If you must submit your application for admission to SRAM for the continuing education program you have chosen:

  1. Go to admission.sram.qc.ca
  2. Select Submit an application for admission
  3. Click on the Application for continuing education button
  4. Create an account using a valid email address, which will be added to your file, along with a password. Keep in mind that this is the email address that SRAM and the CEGEP will use to contact you.

Once your request is submitted to SRAM, you will receive confirmation by email. You must then complete your file as quickly as possible since admission is ongoing for certain programs, and places may be filled before the provided deadline.

Incomplete files will not be sent to the CEGEP for evaluation. Application files must be completed before the deadline provided by SRAM.

Those who submit an application for admission to a program of study are responsible for ensuring that the information they provide is accurate and that their file is complete, that all required documents have been received and are considered compliant, and that all fees have been paid. Incomplete applications will not be sent to CEGEPs for evaluation. Applications must be completed before the deadline provided by SRAM.

If you wish to check the status of your application, you must do so online.

Applications for admission to a continuing education program are valid for a period of six (6) months from the date of their creation. You may submit up to three (3) choices using the same application for admission, in accordance with available programs and conditions established by the CEGEPs for these programs. Every additional choice entails a cost of $10 (non-refundable). It is therefore important to obtain all the information you need from the CEGEP before submitting additional choices.

Once your file is considered complete for a given choice, it is submitted to the CEGEP for evaluation. A response regarding admission will be provided to you by the CEGEP, usually by email. SRAM is not responsible for making any admission decisions whatsoever.

Recognition of Acquired Competencies (RAC)

School is not the only place where people can learn. Work experience, on-the-job training, corporate training, volunteering and personal activities are also important sources of knowledge and learning.

In certain cases, some of this knowledge or these skills can be credited through the Recognition of Acquired Competencies (RAC) services  provided in CEGEPs. The recognition of acquired competencies is a very individualized and structured process intended for adults that have gathered a great deal of work and life experience.
