Post-Graduation Work Permit

Some individuals who have obtained a Diploma of College Studies (DCS) in Quebec in a technical program may be eligible to apply for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP) upon completion of their studies. This permit allows graduates to work in Canada for a duration equivalent to the standard length of their program of study after graduation. This corresponds to three years for a technical Diploma of College Studies.

It may also be possible to obtain a post-graduation work permit after completing certain Attestation of College Studies (ACS) programs with a minimum duration of 900 hours (8 months).

Information regarding the post-graduation work permit is available:

All colleges that are members of SRAM are public institutions. As such, they are designated learning institutions eligible for the PGWP by the Government of Canada.

To verify whether the program of study you have chosen may make you eligible for a post-graduation work permit:

  1. Identify the Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) code using the following list
  2. Verify whether your program’s CIP code is eligible

Please note that the issuance of this type of permit, the eligibility conditions, and the list of eligible programs are subject to change without notice.

For more information regarding your study plans, please contact the college you wish to attend.
